So hows this for modern day Bananas. Just doing some harmless research and I found out about this book. A "children's book of Demons." Now, I have books on demonology, occult, angels etc. However, this caught my eye. It is a book with cute little demons, and how to summon them more or less.
So it does not give step by step how to, but it does show sigils and how to draw them to summon them, in cool little colors. Even includes a blank page to let the little ones practice within the book. It turns the art of sigil drawing into a fun pass time. The book is actually sold in a pretty good amount of places. Amazon, walmart, target. Pretty much everywhere. it is a clear attempt to push the evil is good agenda to kids. just like the after school satan programs a few schools were allowing.
(yes, I included an ad to buy it.lol)
While this is more than likely harmless and most kids will not grasp what they are actually doing, it is a troubling thing. By drawing and imbuing sigils with your will, if done correctly can have horrible outcomes. This is the root of modern demonology and occult magic. these methods have been used for centuries. Placing even a basic understanding of it in the hands of a 5-10 yr old, which is the books recommended age, is crazy. Basically hand a child a tablet where one button out of ten orders a missile strike. More than likely they won't get the button the first try, but eventually or by accident they will.
Honestly, I will probably look for this next time I am at walmart, just to have. It is kind of an absurd thing to have but as someone who studies the occult, getting my hands on these "friendly demon" sigils would be interesting. While I mentioned the book is for 5-10yr olds, the description of the book given by most retailers is also fun and harmless.
“Don’t want to take out the trash tonight? Maybe you’re swimming in homework? Perhaps that big bully is being a real drag? Well grab your coloured pencils and sigil drawing skills and dial up some demons! This paranormal parody is filled to the brim with funny spirits more silly than scary!”
I mean, is that bully being a real drag? So draw a sigil and sick a demon on him? what has the world come to? Either way the study of the paranormal teaches a few key truths in this department. Sigils are real and have been used in occult magic for centuries. Demons or entities can be summoned using these methods. also, children should not be allowed anywhere near this stuff. A number of researchers believe that teens going through puberty can even cause poltergeist activity due to the extreme changes to the body. I do not agree with this, but it is a main stream thought.
So, if it is true the last thing one would want to do is give these young people keys to the world of demons. Now full truth, kids these days are sadly surrounded by a world of awful things on tv and in day to day life. So the outrage by most people because of this book are coming from ill informed people who just see the word demons and think " oh that is bad." Even if it was a book just about some funny fake demons it would not be as bad, it is the how to summon by drawing sigils that makes it bad.
However, it’s clear the book is meant to be a ‘fun’ learning tool where kids draw sigils (magic symbols) to summon 20 different “gentle” demons whose purposes are to make them sick so they can skip school, make them smart and hypnotize others – a bully-preventer. There are warnings about allowing demons into their heads, but who reads warnings when there’s blank pages to color? lol
I think that is a concerning part as well, Summoning the demons with an objective. hurt that person, make me sick, etc. All of that is concerning. So while i am sure we will see more items like this geared toward kids in the future as things like this become normalized, there is one important thing. Parents have to be mindful of what their kids are doing. what are they watching, playing, or reading? That is the best way to prevent them from summoning demons to attack their class mates.
