5 Things to know about Assassins Creed Valhalla

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

First off, just let me thank you all for reading, and state that once this game launches, I may not be seen for months.lol

There is a ton of hype around this upcoming release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Let's dive in and see what's up.

One- The day will come

The most important thing to know about any game is of course, the release date. This has been one of the most anticipated games in the last few years for Ubisoft fans. Rumors of the game go back to the release of Watchdogs 2 in 2016. Allegedly there were stills or other evidence hidden in that game, that led people to believe the company was indeed working on a Viking addition to the franchise. now we see that they are and we can expect to set sail for Odin on November 10th

(side note, This is an add for the first in a series of my own novels, check it out!!!)

Two- Not just a Raid

The main thing most people think of when they think Vikings is bearded men raiding and pillaging. While this did happen, it is important to remember Viking is more of a descriptive term. One can almost imagine these settlers pulling up to English shores and saying "Viking" when asked who or what they are. So Viking is another term for sailing and raiding more or less.

There is however, so much more to the groups of peoples known as Vikings. This game, as with most AC games focus on more historically accurate representations. So in the game, as much as you can go raiding. You are also tasked with settling new areas, building your main settlement, and ruling the lands as you see fit. As you gain notoriety apparently people will come to you seeking alliances to build your empire further. The more of England you conquer or settle, the bigger your own reach becomes.

Three- The Ancient Battle Continues

Much like in AC Odyssey the story is split into multiple over-arching segments. The personal life of Eivor, the conquest, and the battle between the hidden ones, and the Ancients.

This is the Assassins VS Templar in the Valhalla universe. Mu like Odyssey, Eivor will have a "Hit List" so to speak, of targets to take out if you so chose. The ancients will resemble the occult members of other recent additions. According to the creators the lines will be more blurred in this addition to the franchise. It is not as black and white as before as to who is the bad guys in this world.

Four- All The Weapons Please

Much like the last few additions to the franchise, Valhalla will be more RPG focused. Varied amounts of gear, weapons, and side tools will be available for players. Each person will have the ability to fully prepare and put in to motion their own play style. One of the games producers put it best.

“If you want to play a badass Viking who likes to fight with a two-handed axe, the game will support that,” Julien Laferrière says. “If you want to play an assassin oriented around stealth, the game will allow you to do that … it’s a game that caters to a lot of different play styles.”

Five- 100 Miles

If you played AC Odyssey one of the things that probably amazed you was the sheer size of the map. I put multiple videos on our channel just of different areas. The sheer beauty and majesty of the mythic setting are honestly unmatched in modern gaming. The map size for AC Odyssey is around Ninety square miles. AV Valhalla rounds us out around a nice even One hundred square miles.

Somehow Ubisoft manages to keep much of the map of Odyssey alive and full of stuff to do. Honestly it is overwhelming. Upon my rush to finish it before Valhalla, I was level 30 plus before I realized there were five or 6 places in that level range that I hadn't even visited! So if Valhalla is anything like that, there will be more than enough to keep every minute of the game interesting.

Unlike other massive open world games cough *Rockstar* cough, that have little to nothing to do for tens of miles.

We have a few more days before we can jump in and adventure into the lands of 800's AD England. Once we do however, A lot of people are feeling like we are about to get one of the greatest games ever created. If you are not on that bandwagon yet, then I don't know what to tell you. This should be one of the most beautiful settings, some of the best combat, and a story that will move us all.

Good Luck, May Odin be with you!!!!
